The walks
We have chosen to do our walks in different wine areas of France. The wine is a good way to meet the French in their own homes. The majority of our wine tastings and lunches are in small family wineries which have existed for generations.
We did our first Walk in the Beaujolais where we used to live, over fifteen years ago. From there we have spread out into the whole of Burgundy, and now we do four walks in Burgundy which includes the Beaujolais in the South and Chablis in the North.
From Burgundy we created other wales : Northern Provence and Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Corbières, Minervois, Bordeaux, and recently Corsica and La Loire.
We do a walk in Lyon, where Laurence comes from. We combine this with the Northern Côte du Rhône : Côte Rôtie, Condrieu and Hermitage, and an unuasual walk in Paris .
All the walks have been devised and developed by us personnally. We choose the footpaths and tracks very carefully to enable you to enjoy the best of the scenery and the small country villages.
Seasons
Spring is early in the South of France : Provence, Corbières and Minervois, Corsica and Languedoc.
We start these walks from the end of April into May : Lots of Mediterranean flowers and the countryside is still green.
End of May and June we walk further North, in Burgundy, where spring is a little later, but just as colourful.
We do not walk in the summer.
The autumn is harvest time. The autumn walks try and follow the grape harvest.
This is the most active time of the year, and you will meet teams of pickers along your walks.
You will smell the wine fermenting in all the villages, you will taste the newly pressed juice and hear it bubbling in the vats, as it slowly turns into wine.
We think what we do is unique, come and find out. Ask Stephanie and she will give you the phone number of someone who has been on a walk before. |
