You start your walk in Vaison-la-Romaine in the Dentelles de Montmirail, in the North of Provence and East of Orange. You walk through Chateauneuf-du-Pape to Avignon, the old papal city. The Dentelles de Montmirail are a range of beautiful hills covered by vineyards and forests, dominated by a lacework of limestone peaks. Dramatic views. Beaume de Venise and its sweet Muscat wine in the South, Gigondas and Vaqueyras on the western slopes.Visit the Roman Theatre of Orange, walk in the vineyards of Chateauneuf -du-Pape, Lirac and Tavel, before arriving in Villeneuve-les-Avignon for the last two nights. A whole day to visit Avignon.
